Mandela Day 2014 Knit-a-thon @ Mandela Rhodes Place

Mandela Day Knit-a-thon for Little Fighters organised by Fair Cape Dairies, Hippo Communications, Bush Radio 89.5FM and Mandela Rhodes Hotel @ Mandela Rhodes Place was a huge success with volunteers flocking to knit for Children with Cancer.

From businesswomen to mothers, sisters, grannies, gogos, and even the guys ~ they came one and all to give their #67minutes for Madiba by knitting squares that will be sewn together to make blankets for Little Cancer Fighters throughout South Africa.

This is the second year that the Mandela Day Knit-a-thon has been held, and it will be an annual event, so if you missed out on the fun this year, see you next year!

Coffee was supplied throughout the day by the hotel, and Faircape Dairies supplied loads of their delicious yoghurts and chocolate mousse. There were hampers and other prizes up for grabs, and great fun was had by all.

All proceeds in aid of the Little Fighters Cancer Trust.

Little Fighters Cancer Trust would like to thank Fair Cape Dairies, Mandela Rhodes Place, Bush Radio 89.5 FM, HIPPO Communications and all associated Partners for this amazing, second year running, effort. Last year’s blankets and other donations came in extremely handy for many Little Fighters and their Families, both in hospital and at home. We would also like to extend a HUGE thank you to all who took part in this wonderful event.

Thank You to Hippo Communications for the Photos
