Seven7 DRIVE for Kids with Cancer Update – On the Road!
Late yesterday afternoon the lads all packed their goodies, shaved their heads in preparation for the trip and cancer awareness, dressed nicely and then proceeded to jump around excitedly for the next few hours until it was time to leave.
Just before midnight everyone gathered at the Steve Biko Hospital to have a final pow-wow prior to leaving…..
Just on midnight our 3 intrepid travelers, Danie Botha, G.G van Rooyen and Jan van Deventer took off on the first leg of their wonderful SEVEN 7 Drive for Kids with Cancer, visiting Seven countries in 7 days to raise funds for Children with Cancer who are terminal and are not covered by Medical Aid. They will also visit a child with Cancer in hospital in each of the countries.
Day 1 of the trip is an approximate 1546km journey from Johannesburg to Namibia. The Team is due to arrive in Windhoek, Namibia @ approximately 3pm to check into Arrebusch Travel Lodge. During the day the Team will go to Windhoek Hospital for Cancer Kid visit number 1.
The team will then do a bit of sightseeing and catch up on some sleep, readying themselves to leave for the next leg of the trip to Francistown, Botswana at 4am on Friday.
We will post photos and further updates as we get them from the Team.
