MASA “Butterflies for Kids with Cancer” Project Update: Belissimo!!

Good Day, Peeps!

Things have been a bit hectic on this side, and I apologise for not posting as often over the past week or two… I will hopefully soon be back to posting as per normal, but today I would like to start off your week with some beauty – the latest beautiful submissions for the MASA “Butterflies for Kids with Cancer” Project in aid of Little Fighters Cancer Trust.

2015 BUTTERFLIES FOR KIDS WITH CANCER – in Support of Little Fighters Cancer Trust

Here are the latest additions to  our growing garden of beautiful butterflies all made with love for out Little Fighters and soon to adorn the walls of the various Paediatric Oncology Wards throughout South Africa.

To date MASA has received 114 butterflies for the  “Butterflies for Kids with Cancer” Project and I believe that there are still more to come – and how beautiful they are! The kids are going to be overjoyed with these beauties adorning the onco wards… at least something to brighten up their dreary days…

Below are the latest additions in the adult category:

Cher Manning from MASA wrote the following on the MASA Coffee Shop Facebook wall:

From the 28th August – Everybody (Yes – everybody!!) is going to be invited to vote for their 3 favourite butterflies to identify the top 20 to be sent to LFCT to either raffle or auction to raise additional funds. It is NOT going to be an easy job… I have found at least 15 that have knocked my socks off. *Sigh* its a tough job and somebody (everybody) will just have to do it

And here are some more tokens of love from our younger contributors:

Little Fighters Cancer Trust is so excited to see how this project has taken shape over the months, and is amazed by the amount of individuals who were willing to give up their time and effort to make these wonderful butterfly mosaics to beautify the onco wards ~ the children are going to be so excited to see them….  and the wards are going to look SO much brighter and more cheerful 😀

Please do yourself a favour and visit the MASA Website to see all the other wonderful mosaic artworks that these very talented artists have created.

Also, if you have nothing to do, or just like looking at beautiful artistic creations, get yourself along to the THIS is mosaic ART Exhibition

Once again, Thank You One and All for your participation in this project! The Little Fighters Cancer Trust REALLY appreciates it!

About LFCT

This is a blog about CHILDHOOD CANCER and CHILDHOOD CANCER AWARENESS Little Fighters Cancer Trust is a non-profit organisation that offers support and aid to Children with Cancer and their families. When a child is diagnosed with cancer it affects the whole family. One of the parents, usually the mother, must give up their job to care for the child and this creates financial problems for the family. In South Africa especially the majority of these families are not well-to-do; many of them are rural. A diagnosis of cancer can wipe out any family’s finances, let alone a poor family. The costs of special medications, special diets, hospital stays, transport to and from the hospital or clinic and accommodation and food costs for the mother who spends most of the time at her child’s bedside are astronomical. These are the people and problems that fall through the cracks, and these are the people that Little Fighters Cancer Trust has pledged to help in any way possible. LFCT takes a holistic approach to assisting the Children with Cancer and their Families, with the main aim to be the preservation of individual dignity and pride. Little Fighters Cancer Trust also focuses on promotion and advocacy of National Childhood Cancer Awareness in an effort to increase awareness of Early Warning Signs of Childhood Cancer. This would result in earlier diagnosis, giving the Child with Cancer more of a chance at Treatment and Survival. See "About" for more Background info
