TOYS needed URGENTLY for LFCT Christmas Elf Deliveries

xmas-toys-smFolks, we are running out of time to get all our gifts ready for the LFCT Christmas Elf Project. We start doing Christmas Elf Deliveries at the end of November so that we are able to include Little Fighters who might be well enough to be sent home for the Holiday Season in our Gifting.

The Christmas Elf Project provides Children with Cancer with Christmas presents which many of them would not have otherwise.

For many children this will be the only Christmas presents they will get. Apart from supporting Individual Children with Cancer, their siblings also get Christmas Gifts and many of these destitute Families are also gifted with a full month’s worth of groceries so that they too can share in the Festive Season without having to worry about where the next meal will come from.

We have so far received some great donations, including some wonderful donations from the Old Mutual Training Department Staff, Pinelands; Fairmont High School, Kenridge Durbanville; Protea Hoogte Kleuterskool/Nasorg; Metrorail Staff, Rosebank, and various other donors.

THANK YOU ONE AND ALL – YOU ROCK!!!!

To date we have received sufficient Santa Hats, Christmas Crackers and Snack Pack content, and also have enough groceries for all our Families for December, THANK YOU SO MUCH!

To drop off Christmas Gifts with our Durban Representative, please make arrangements with Vasie via 073 504 3532

Please send a text or whatsapp message, as both these Representatives have normal day jobs, and cannot always answer their cell phones while working. They will respond to messages.

Support in Bloemfontein is rather low, so all Gifts for Bloemfontein should come to Paarl –  we will pack and send them off to our Volunteer to take to the ward.

Please contact Mandie on 073 729 6155 if you would like to help to sort out these 50 #LittleFighters with Christmas Gifts.

About LFCT

This is a blog about CHILDHOOD CANCER and CHILDHOOD CANCER AWARENESS Little Fighters Cancer Trust is a non-profit organisation that offers support and aid to Children with Cancer and their families. When a child is diagnosed with cancer it affects the whole family. One of the parents, usually the mother, must give up their job to care for the child and this creates financial problems for the family. In South Africa especially the majority of these families are not well-to-do; many of them are rural. A diagnosis of cancer can wipe out any family’s finances, let alone a poor family. The costs of special medications, special diets, hospital stays, transport to and from the hospital or clinic and accommodation and food costs for the mother who spends most of the time at her child’s bedside are astronomical. These are the people and problems that fall through the cracks, and these are the people that Little Fighters Cancer Trust has pledged to help in any way possible. LFCT takes a holistic approach to assisting the Children with Cancer and their Families, with the main aim to be the preservation of individual dignity and pride. Little Fighters Cancer Trust also focuses on promotion and advocacy of National Childhood Cancer Awareness in an effort to increase awareness of Early Warning Signs of Childhood Cancer. This would result in earlier diagnosis, giving the Child with Cancer more of a chance at Treatment and Survival. See "About" for more Background info
