Little Fighters Cancer Trust Pre-Loved Charity Shoppe

charity-shopsThe Little Fighters Cancer Trust employs various methods of fundraising and getting donations of goods and services, including the establishment of a charity shop in Paarl last year.

While we can only donate new clothing, toys etc. to Children with Cancer due to the fact that they have lowered immune systems and therefore a heightened risk of infection, your pre-loved items can still make a HUGE difference in their lives, by allowing us to sell them in our charity shop and use the proceeds from the sales to support Children with Cancer and their Families.

Providing the services and goods that we do costs millions of rands every year; and year on year the costs are just getting greater, with added Children with Cancer and their Families as well as the ever-increasing cost of living in South Africa.

We understand that the general public is also struggling and cannot always help with cash donations, but everyone has loads of “stuff” that they periodically need to get rid of.

We all sort out old clothes, shoes, handbags, curtains, linen, furniture, appliances, bric-a-brac, toys, books, stationery, pots ‘n pans, crockery & cutlery, old cellphones, old computers, and much more on a regular basis… stuff for which we no longer have any use but which is still in good condition and which others would be grateful for…

Many of us like to start the new year off with a good old “spring-cleaning” so if you are one of these people and have a bunch of old “stuff” lying around that you have sorted out to get rid of but don’t know what to do with… contact us; we would LOVE it!

donated goodsThings that have been lying around the house or stuffed in the back of your cupboards or squashed into a corner of the garage for ages can make a massive difference in the lives of Children with Cancer who have a great many needs, and their Families who give up everything to bear the brunt of the expenses of caring for a Child with Cancer, therefore often going without themselves, or not being able to provide siblings of their Child with Cancer with their needs.

By donating these goods to the Little Fighters Cancer Trust Pre-Loved Charity Shoppe, you will be enabling LFCT to raise much-needed funds by selling these goods to those who would be happy to have them.

WE GUARANTEE – 100% of the proceeds of these sales will go towards helping our Little Fighters and their Families cope just a little bit better with the scourge of cancer.

About LFCT

CHILDHOOD CANCER and CHILDHOOD CANCER AWARENESS Little Fighters Cancer Trust is a non-profit Childhood Cancer support organisation that offers support and aid to Children with Cancer and their families. When a child is diagnosed with cancer it affects the whole family. One of the parents, usually the mother, must give up their job to care for the child and this creates financial problems for the family. In South Africa especially the majority of these families are not well-to-do; many of them are rural. A diagnosis of cancer can wipe out any family’s finances, let alone a poor family. The costs of special medications, special diets, hospital stays, transport to and from the hospital or clinic and accommodation and food costs for the mother who spends most of the time at her child’s bedside are astronomical. These are the people and problems that fall through the cracks, and these are the people that Little Fighters Cancer Trust has pledged to help in any way possible. LFCT takes a holistic approach to assisting the Children with Cancer and their Families, with the main aim to be the preservation of individual dignity and pride. Little Fighters Cancer Trust also focuses on promotion and advocacy of National Childhood Cancer Awareness in an effort to increase awareness of Early Warning Signs of Childhood Cancer. This would result in earlier diagnosis, giving the Child with Cancer more of a chance at Treatment and Survival. See "About" for more Background info
