Dedicated to Those Who Are Missing Someone Today

Christmas is not a happy time for everyone – there are many individuals for whom the Festive Season is very painful as it is the time that they miss those who are gone the most.

For parents who have lost a child, whether to cancer or anything else, this is a really, really, difficult time of the year because Christmas is about the children, after all…

Today we would like to take a moment to send out some love to all parents who have lost a child/children.

While the first Christmas is particularly poignant, each Christmas without your child will bring its own challenges, and each parent has to grieve in his or her own way.

There is not much that anyone can say that will take away your pain, but we here at the Little Fighters Cancer Trust would just like to let you know that we are holding you close in our hearts today and are sending you as much Love & Peace as your heart can hold.

Sending you Angel Blessings

Christmas Elves Needed

elf_with_ornamentWould YOU like to become a member of Santa’s Most Special Team of Helpers this year, so that the Little Fighters Cancer Trust can make Christmas time special for our Children with Cancer and their Families?

As per normal at this time of the year, we are looking for Christmas Elves to help us with gathering a range of fantastic goodies to fill the stockings of our Little Fighters and their Families.

LFCT currently has in excess of ONE HUNDRED individual Childhood Cancer Affected Families registered.

We aim to provide the same gift, plus a snack-pack, to every single Little Fighter and all of his/her siblings for Christmas (we include gifts for the siblings because the parents of Children with Cancer can generally not afford gifts for any of their children, and siblings already lose out on so much due to the high physical, emotional and financial costs of cancer that the whole family suffers that they also need to be spoiled).

Little Fighters Superhero Super-Slueth on the Job

wanted 1

Okay, so yesterday we shared with you all the fact that there was great consternation because Santa, all his Elves and even the reindeer had gone on strike and are missing…

This is really a big problem for us as we have SO much to do to get our 2015 Christmas Elf Project up and going so that we can bring Christmas to all our Little Fighters nationwide; this is our biggest project of the year, as it far exceeds R600 000, but the smiles we get are all worth it.

Christmas is for children, and we really go all-out to make sure that all our Little Fighters both at home and in hospital at least have a bit of a party and some great presents to take their mind off of the massive battle that they are fighting every day for even just a short while. For many of these children what they get from the Little Fighters Cancer Trust is all that they will get for Christmas.

Last year we were able to deliver Christmas Joy to over 2 100 Children with Cancer across South Africa with the help of all our bustling and amazing little Christmas Elves,  exceeding our target of 1 065 children! Ho-ho-ho! That meant many happy little hearts, and Santa’s nose was shining with enjoyment!

This year, we aim for 2 500 Children, as we want to include all the Paediatric Oncology Patients in more hospitals!
