The Little Fighters Cancer Trust would like to extend a massive, heartfelt thanks to Alba Equestrian Centre for hosting the very first (to our knowledge) “Jump for Cancer” in South Africa (perhaps even the world) to raise Childhood Cancer Awareness as well as to raise much-needed funds for LFCT.
We were contacted via our Facebook Page on 2 August by a lady named Carla du Plessis, whom we assumed was the owner, regarding a “Jump for Cancer” show-jumping show that they wanted to hold on 23 September in aid of LFCT, and of course we jumped at the opportunity.
As the weeks went by, Carla regularly updated us as to all the wonderful people who were coming on board to partake as well as all the great sponsors and we got just as excited as she was at every new announcement…. it is always such a pleasure when a partner includes us in all the arrangements and shares all the exciting news with us because that we also get excited and can update all our supporters and potential donors/entrants with the latest news 😀
Remember to join Alba Equestrian Centre and the Little Fighters Cancer Trust on Sunday 23 September, 2018 for a fantastic Jump for Cancer.
Alba Livery has arrange this wonderful event to raise Childhood Cancer Awareness and Funds for LFCT as part of the September Child Cancer Awareness campaign and we are extremely excited about it!!
The event will be held at the Alba Equestrian Centre, Vissershok Road, 7550 Durbanville from 9am to 3pm and is set to be a fun-filled day with great entertainment for the whole family so come and join in the fun!
There will be classes for everyone, starting with pole on the ground and ending off with a 90/1m class ☺️
There will also be two very special classes for more ambitious riders:
- 70cm Darby: In this class you’ll have the opportunity to jump some funny jumps, including our bank 🎊🎉
- Chase me Charlie: This class works a lot like a six bar and will require some gutsy riders to brave the height 😳
There will also be 1 or 2 Equine Cancer Survivors taking part 😀 ❤
There will be Cancer Awareness Ribbons on sale, a raffle, PLENTY of prizes to be won, and LFCT will also have a manned (wo-manned) table where you can find out more about Child Cancer and the work that LFCT does with Children with Cancer and their Families as well as what you can do to help.
See you there!!
